Leight Sales Co., Inc. was founded in 1943 and has over 69 years of experience distributing hardlines. Our primary specialty was Tools and Hardware. We, however, have grown beyond this. In 1995, Bradley Sales, a key and sign distributor, was purchased. 1997 saw the addition of Pacific Wholesale Hardware which expanded our mix to include electrical, plumbing, paint and paint sundries. In 1999, Leight Sales Co., Inc. purchased Acme Electric Supply Co., a full line electrical distributor with over 50 years of experience. And in May 2001, the retail business of Jarvis Electric was purchased making Leight Sales the leading electrical wholesaler to retail in California. Leight Sales will continue its aggressive growth through building on existing relationships, targeting new markets, and through acquisition. Leight Sales Co., Inc. is a member of the Val-Test buying group, a nationwide membership of wholesalers with more than $2 billion in buying power. This assures our customers of competitive pricing in all categories.

The basic business plan of the Company has remained unchanged over the years . . . specialize in basic product groups, be the best in the marketplace, be in stock, pay the bills on time, provide the best service at reasonable costs . . . and above all make our customer more profits than our competitor. How this basic business plan is implemented is always in review. We constantly strive to mix the best of new school philosophy with old school values. Our customers include Major Home Center Chains, Lumber Yards, Independent Hardware Stores, Warehouse Retailers, Specialty Retailers, and Military Exchanges.

The Company was founded by George Leight. We remain a family-owned corporation which guarantees consistent policy, program, and philosophy, as a family member has always remained active in the day to day operation and management of the Company. Our 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse is centrally located in a modern industrial complex on the Artesia Freeway (91) in Carson. This location is ideal to serve our prime market area, which is California. Secondary markets include Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Guam, Mexico and Japan.

Merchandise from more than 250 manufacturers is considered basic warehouse stock. Current SKU count is in the twenty thousand range. Our basic product mix is extensive, while being very selective. We stock the best, most wanted items from the recognized manufacturer. We do not stock SKU's for numbers sake alone. Each product must support itself in our warehouse, as in your store. We own our trucks and deliver within most of our prime market area. We utilize the least expensive shipping methods outside our prime market area.

It should be noted that Leight Sales Co., Inc., or the family, own the land, building, equipment, trucks, data processing equipment, etc. We believe in buying rather than leasing or renting, and we have the financial strength to do so.

  • Price changes are done at the beginning of each quarter with a minimum of 30 days notice prior to any change.

SERVICE

  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. services what we sell.
  • Weekly or bi-weekly sales calls to handle, count and order functions, product knowledge training, maintenance of store sets and return goods authorization.
  • Professional reset team to implement display changes, new product sets and new store sets or remodels.
  • Sales support team inside Leight Sales Co., Inc. available for information, help with special orders, or add on orders, Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

PRODUCT MIX

  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. stocks the best recognized products in our industry.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will add and carry specific product lines for specific customers (provided that sales are sufficient to maintain necessary order minimums). Lines can be added and shipped as fast as manufacturers can process our orders.
  • Product reviews done to customers requirements . . . yearly, quarterly, etc. When Leight Sales Co., Inc. changes out a line, we generally offer buyback of discontinued merchandise, opening order discounts and dating on new product.
  • Because Leight Sales Co., Inc. is locally based, we can create product mixes based on this region's intricacies and not on some national, one size fits all view.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. can create specific mixes for different store locations of the same chain.

MINIMUMS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • No up-front charges in order to do business with Leight Sales Co., Inc.
  • No minimum weekly, monthly or yearly purchase requirements.
  • No charge to add on to an order that has already been placed.
  • Terms are Net 10th Prox, or Net 30 days, which ever is more convenient for our customer. 
  • Special orders are gladly accepted and processed without additional surcharges.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will do price shops and provide comparisons per our
    customers’ requests.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. is EDI/ASN compatible. Leight Sales Co., Inc. also utilizes Symbol MC50 mobil EDA machines for paperless ordering.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will maintain customer's SKU numbers and customized retails and print these on all packing slips and invoices.
  • Plan-a-grams can be provided for all sets.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. maintains a show room with over 60 feet of gondolas, eight feet high. All suggested sets or plan-a-grams can be viewed live prior to implementation at store level.
  • Purchase history can be provided as needed.

CO-OP ADVERTISING

  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will work with our customers to plan a yearly advertising budget utilizing co-op earned through purchases made during the preceding year. Leight Sales Co., Inc. will negotiate additional monies from manufacturers above and beyond co-op earned.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will assist in ad planning and layout.

SPECIAL BUYING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will have one physical buying show each year held locally.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. has a monthly special(s) program which is mailed out to the buyer with a minimum 30 day window in which to order.
  • Leight Sales Co., Inc. will provide special quotes for advertised products by our customers.
